First Day at Church...

When we had Emily we took her to church when she was less than 1 week old, and so we wanted to take Elaina that first week too. Being at church is such an uplifting feeling to me that I didn't want to stay away! This little dress is the same dress Emily wore her first time to church, so I thought it would be perfect for Elaina although it was too big. She was great at church - slept the entire time! Hopefully she will keep it up! And the best part - we were there on time and no arguments about us running late!!! Now that's a God thing! :)

Happy Valentine's Day...

I know it's late, I do have a good reason (which I will be blogging about shortly). These were the morning of Valentine's Day. We went to the Adventure Science Museum with Kristin and Christopher. We had never been, and it was so much fun!!! Emily had a blast!! And so did her Daddy! We will definitely be going back!
It looks like my mom and sister had fun too!

More Visitors...

I told you we had so many visitors that I couldn't put them all in one post. It definitely reminds Steve and I just how blessed we are! A lot of my pictures from the hospital ended up blurry, so I can't download those, but we also had lots of visitors once we were home. Several of our friends from church brought us dinner that first week, thank goodness! I don't think I would have been able to cook that week! Lisa Baker brought dinner over on Sunday and brought Makayla and the Hines twins with her. We finally know how to tell the twins apart - which is so exciting because I never know which one I'm talking to! I think that's part of the reason God has not blessed me with twins - I'm not observant enough to be able to tell them apart! Then on Tuesday Michelle brought the girls over because they were dying to meet Elaina. Although, I think they were more excited to play with Emily. Caleb was a little jealous of Michelle holding Elaina. We've had lots more visitors, but some how I can't find the pictures. I'll update more once I find them.

Being a Big Sister...

I was pretty nervous about how Emily would do with me having to give my attention to someone other than her, but she has been a fantastic big sister. She absolutely loves her "sissy"! And I love the fact that she calls Elaina her sissy. I used to call my sister that and it brings a smile to my face to think Emily is going to have a sister bond with Elaina, like I did (and still do) with Candy.
I'm breastfeeding but Emily was dying to feed Elaina a bottle, so I let her feed Elaina some water. Elaina liked it and Emily loved being able to give a bottle to Elaina. Emily's reaction to me breastfeeding was hilarious! She looked at me with pure disgust and said "That's gross." I couldn't help but laugh!
This picture is so sweet to me! I love the fact that Emily was feeding her baby while aunt Candy fed Elaina.

She's not my baby anymore...

Emily has definitely seemed more grown up to me since Elaina has made her arrival. It's amazing to me how even her hands seem bigger to me now that there's little baby hands around here.
Last summer, we started having some behavior issues out of Emily. Not anything major, just a little talking back, and some smaller issues like that. So, I was watching Super Nanny one night, and saw how she used the marble jar. It seemed like a good plan, so I sat Emily down and told her we were going to start using the marble jar concept. I asked her what she wanted to do once she got her jar full of marbles and her reply was a very excited - "GET MY EARS PIERCED!!!" So, she worked really hard and filled her marble jar. We kept putting it off because I wasn't ready for anything extra while I was pregnant.
So, while Steve was off we decided to break down and let her get her ears pierced. I can't believe my little baby has grown up so much!!!
She was so brave! She had a couple of tears but nothing major! She loves them!
