Introducing....

Our newest member to the Barrios clan...

CHRISTMAS CAROL

 

We started the whole elf on the shelf tradition this year.  Except, since we have girly girls, we did an elf fairy.  The girls love that she has wings and is a girl. 

 

Christmas Carol showed up with gifts and some fun breakfast...

Each of the girls received a card personally written to them from Christmas Carol and lots of other fun stuff, a new ornament, a game, and coloring placemats.  And of course, you can't forget the doughnuts for breakfast and Christmas Carol's favorite - white chocolate chips.  Lots of candy canes too!

And can you believe it, she even climbed into our closet and brought out my feathers for decorations!!

The girls have had so much fun with this!  And I love seeing their reaction every time she gets into something!  Here's a little sample of what all she's been doing:

I forgot to take pictures of the first few days, so there are some other things she's done as well!

 

Elaina has had a hard time with the whole no touch rule, but all in all this has been so much fun!

 

Update on Casa de Barrios....

...since it's been so long, I thought I would post a short update on all things happening in Casa de Barrios the past two years...watch out, lots of pictures and most of them are from my long lost iphone.

Here goes nothing:

Emily started the 2nd Grade.  And started an sassy attitude at the same time.

Steve played and coached a lot of baseball, which meant lots of time spent at the ballpark.

Lots of dress up and play time.  And goodness gracious, so glad the "wah-wah", or pacifier for those not in the Barrios clan, is gone!!!!

Lots of weddings...

And a few new babies...

Ran our first 1/2 marathon.

Second trip to Puerto Rico.

We are officially potty trained!  YAY!!! No more diapers!



That almost wraps up our last 2 years.  You'll see some of these things in more detail in future posts and a few other posts from the past couple years I didn't include (like some partying!!).

A Girl and her Dog...

These are from a while back, but I wanted to share them anyways. It's been a while since I've updated and there's been a lot of fun things happening around here at Casa de Barrios, but unfortunately, I can't seem to find my camera cord. So, I'm stuck with some older photos for tonight.

These pictures crack me up though. Elaina is mesmorized with the dogs and they are so good to her. This just proofs how much she loves them!

I know a few of these are a little blurry - it is really hard to get a shot of these two! Stay tuned for lots of fun stuff! I have lots of projects in my head and we're planning a fun baby shower for a sweet friend.

Birthday Traditions...

We have several birthday traditions around casa de barrios, like celebrating for a week if you're name is Steve or Emily. But one of my FAVORITE traditions is having a cupcake for breakfast on your birthday. I think I'm a little selfish in starting this tradition - my favorite thing in the world is some birthday cake, so any reason to add more of it in my life the better!

We started this tradition with Emily's 1st birthday and we have carried it through to Elaina's 1st birthday! It's so funny looking at the pictures and realizing just how much they look alike!

We woke her up early on Saturday so Steve could see her eat her very first cupcake. She didn't know what to think, but she definitely got the hang of it by the end!
